SYMPTOMS

When you print your Microsoft Digital Image or your Microsoft Picture It! Photo Premium 9 project on A4 format paper, the project does not print as you expect. Your half-fold greeting card designs look off-centered when they are printed on A4 format paper.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because the content templates were created for printing on Letter format paper.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue and to print the card with the front image completely centered, you must pull the front image off the canvas a bit. To print the half-fold card correctly, follow these steps:
  1. Open the half-fold card in the workspace of the Picture It! or Digital Image Pro Editor.
  2. Click the image on the front of the card.

The handles will appear to permit you to move the image.
  3. Drag the front image slightly off the canvas.
  4. Adjust the position of the front image until you think that it will print correctly centered.
Note You will have some trial and error until you are used to how to line the image up correctly for your printer and paper settings. You may have to print the card two or three times in between adjusting the front image on the card, until it is completely centered.

MORE INFORMATION

The printing code puts the front and back of the card together and centers that on the page. This leaves a potentially large border at the top and bottom of the paper. This border is even more noticeable if you switch to 11x17 size paper or to index cards. When you fold the paper in half, the front of the card is not centered on the top half of the paper that you see.
