SYMPTOMS

If you try to fail over a Message Queuing cluster node to another node on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows 2000, you may receive a stop error message on a blue screen. The bug check information is similar to the information in the following error message, but the addresses may vary:
BugCheck 7A, {e32928f8, c000026e, a313f200, 50d8a8c0}
The following message is logged in the event log:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: MSMQ Cluster Resource DLL Event
Category: None
Event ID: 2017
Description: MSMQ service could not be stopped 0x3e5. Error 0x3e5 is ERROR_IO_PENDING.

CAUSE

The Message Queuing resource DLL waits five seconds for the Message Queuing service to stop and then waits five more seconds for the driver to unload. It then tells the cluster service that it is offline. However, it may not actually be offline because the Message Queuing service and the driver may require more time to stop and unload. For example, a long purge might require a longer time to stop the Message Queuing service and unload the driver.
