The search folder is empty when you create a "Mail from and to specific people" search folder to find e-mail messages in Outlook 2003 (824119)

SYMPTOMSWhen you create a Mail from and to specific
people search folder to find e-mail messages that were sent to you,
you receive the following message in the search folder: There are no items to show in this view. CAUSEThis behavior is by design so that e-mail messages that were
sent by you are not included in this type of search. Otherwise, e-mail messages
that are contained in your Sent Items folder would be included
in this type of search folder.STATUS This
behavior is by design.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this behavior, create a Mail from
specific people search folder or a Mail sent directly to
me search folder. To do this, follow these steps:
- Start Outlook 2003.
- Click the e-mail account where you want to create the
search folder.
- On the File menu, point to
New, and then click Search Folder.
- In the New Search Folder dialog box, use
one of the following steps depending on the type of search folder that you want
to create.
- If you want to create a Mail From Specific
People search folder, follow these steps:
- Click Mail from specific people,
and then click Choose.
- In the From box, type your e-mail
address.
- Click OK to close the
Select Names dialog box.
- If you want to create a Mail Sent Directly To
Me search folder, click Mail sent directly to
me.
- Click OK to close the New Search
Folder dialog box.
