SYMPTOMS

You may experience any of the following symptoms when you work with your e-mail program:
  • When you start Microsoft Outlook, you may receive any of the following error messages:
    Outlook has caused an error in msvcrt.dll
    outlook has caused an IPF in msvcrt.dll
  • When you start Microsoft Outlook Express, you may receive any of the following error messages:
    Msimn has caused an error in msvcrt.dll
    msimn has caused an invalid page fault in module msvcrt
  • When you try to open the Mail applet in Control Panel, you may receive the following error message:
    An error occurred while Windows was working with the Control Panel file path \mlcfg32.cpl

RESOLUTION

To resolve these problems, install the latest Microsoft Office XP Service Pack.
