STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

The yppoll command retrieves order numbers.

Some NIS software relies on the order number to determine whether a map has been updated. If the order number is not updated, it can cause data to become out of synchronization unless the administrator forces an update manually.

The order number is represented by the msSFU30OrderNumber attribute in the Active Directory directory service.
