PRB: Application Center 2000 Cluster Node Does Not Converge When Network Adapter Is Enabled on the Cluster Node (822987)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Application Center 2000
SYMPTOMSWhen you disable and then enable the public network adapter
of an Application Center 2000 routing cluster node that is using Network Load Balancing, the cluster node may not automatically converge with the
cluster.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, after you enable the public
network adapter on an Application Center 2000 routing cluster node, run one of
the following commands from the command prompt:
- wlbs start
- ac loadbalance /online
Note These commands permit the convergence of the cluster node to
occur after the network adapter is enabled. STATUS This
behavior is by design.MORE INFORMATION If you run Network Load Balancing without Application Center, you can select the Active check box in the
NLB
Configuration dialog box. This option permits the network card to
automatically converge when the network card is enabled.
If you run
Network Load Balancing with Application Center, you do not have the option to select the
Active check box in the
NLB
Configuration dialog box. This option is not available because
this option permits Application Center to keep Network Load Balancing offline while the computer
starts until the W3SVC service starts. Otherwise, Network Load Balancing starts to serve the
network load before Internet Information Services is ready to accept the
load, and problems may occur. REFERENCES
