XCON: Mail Is Not Delivered Between Exchange Organizations That Are Connected Through a Backbone (822952)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to transmit mail between Exchange organizations that use another server as a backbone, mail may not be delivered successfully and users may receive non-delivery reports (NDRs).

CAUSE

This issue may occur when you try to use a third-party server product or an MS Mail postoffice as a backbone between Exchange organizations.

STATUS

Using a third-party server product or an MS Mail postoffice as a backbone between Exchange organizations is not supported in Exchange 2000.
