SYMPTOMSBy default, Microsoft Visual Studio .NET creates an InitializeComponent function when you use Microsoft Visual C# .NET to create a new Microsoft ASP.NET Web project. This function is used to associate Event objects with controls. To view the code, expand the generated code in Web Form Designer. You will notice a declaration similar to the following: private void InitializeComponent()
{
this.Load += new System.EventHandler(this.Page_Load);
} In some Visual Studio .NET configurations, if you change the enableViewState property of a page, the code in the InitializeComponent function is deleted. RESOLUTIONA supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article.
