Custom Form Action Causes Outlook to Quit Unexpectedly (822558)

SYMPTOMS

When you click a custom action on a form in Outlook 2002, Outlook may quit unexpectedly and you may receive the following error message:

Microsoft Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

When you view the details of the error message, you receive an error signature that is similar to the following:

   AppName      AppVer       ModName     ModVer       Offset
   -----------------------------------------------------------
   Outlook.exe  10.0.2627.1  Outlib.dll  10.0.2627.1  0009ab7c

RESOLUTION

Service Pack Information

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Office XP Service Pack 3.
