FIX: Support for the automatic process dump feature in COM+ on a Windows 2000-based computer (822470)

SUMMARY

This article describes a change in the functionality of Component Services when it is used with Microsoft Windows 2000. By default, in Windows 2000, when a failfast occurs in a component service, a file is not automatically created to store the process data from the component service that experiences the failfast.

After you apply the hotifx that is described in this article, a process dump file is created automatically whenever a failfast occurs in Component Services.

Note This hotfix requires a new version of the Dbghelp.dll file than the version that is included with Windows 2000.

To obtain the latest version of the Dbghelp.dll file, install the latest version of the Debugging Tools for Windows. To do this, visit the following Microsoft Web site:Note You must replace the Dgbhelp.dll file in Windows Safe Mode in the System32 and the System32\Dllcache folders.
