"Please Verify That Your User Information and Password Are Correct, then Try Your Call Again" Error Message When You Try to Sign-In to MSN Bill Pay (822397)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to sign-in to MSN Bill Pay, you may receive the following error message:
Please verify that your user information and password are correct, then try your call again.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, create a Direct Banking password. To do this, follow these steps.

Note You must have a Direct Banking password to setup MSN Bill Pay in Money 2003.
  1. Start your Web browser and locate the following MSN Web site:
  2. Click Sign-In Now, and then type your e-mail address and password.
  3. On the left-side of the page, click Settings or Bill Pay Settings.
  4. Under Services Settings, click Microsoft Money.
  5. When you are prompted to do so, type your Direct Online Banking password.

    Note The Direct Online Banking password is typically your Social Security Number (SSN) followed by two extra zeros (00).
  6. In Money, continue your setup.
