Exchange 2000 Virtual Servers Are Not Included in Exchange Reports (822125)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Operations Manager 2000
SYMPTOMSWhen you try to run a report for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server by using the Microsoft Operations Manager Reporting console, the report may not include any Exchange 2000 virtual servers in the list of Exchange servers.CAUSEThis issue may occur if the Exchange 2000 virtual servers are not members of the Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server computer group. Exchange 2000 reporting in Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2000 returns only those computers that are members of the Exchange 2000 Server computer group.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, modify the Exchange 2000 Managed Computer Rule (MCR) to include the Exchange 2000 Server virtual server (or servers) that you want to include. To do this, follow these steps: - Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft Operations Manager, and then click MOM Administrator Console.
- In the left pane, expand Configuration, and then click Agent Managers.
-
In the right pane, double-click the agent manager for the Exchange 2000 server that you want to add.
- Click the Managed Computer Rules tab, and then click Add.
- Click Include, and then click Next.
- Type the name of the domain and the name of the Exchange 2000 virtual server that you want to add, and then click Next.
- Click to select the check box that corresponds to the type of computer, and then click Finish.
- Click Apply, and then click OK to close the Agent Manager Properties dialog box.
When the next managed computer scan occurs, the Exchange virtual server that you specified in step 6 is added to the Exchange 2000 Server computer group.
