SUMMARY

This article discusses some considerations that apply when you install Microsoft Class Server 3.0 and you install Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services on the same server.

MORE INFORMATION

When you install Class Server and you install Windows SharePoint Services on the same server, you must install Windows SharePoint Services to a location other than the default virtual server. Because Class Server can only use the Default Web Site in Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS), you must create another virtual server for use with Windows SharePoint Services.

When you run Windows SharePoint Services Setup, click the Advanced option, and you manually configure a site (other than the Default Web Site) for use with Windows SharePoint Services. If you install Windows SharePoint Services by using the default installation options, the Default Web Site is configured for use with Windows SharePoint Services. You must reconfigure Windows SharePoint Services to use a different virtual server.

For more information about how to install and how to configure Class Server 3.0, see the Microsoft Class Server Administrator's Guide. The Microsoft Class Server Administrator's Guide (Adminguide.htm and Adminguide.pdf) is located in the root folder of the Microsoft Class Server 3.0 CD-ROM.
