Windows 3.1 Setup /B Switch Does Not Affect Windows Settings (82260)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows 3.1
- Microsoft Windows 3.11
This article was previously published under Q82260
The Setup program for Microsoft Windows versions 3.1 and 3.11 can be run in
monochrome mode for compatibility reasons.
The command-line switch to run Setup in monochrome mode is "/B". For
example, type the following at the MS-DOS command prompt:
setup /b
The command-line Help message unclearly states that this switch sets up
Windows with monochrome display attributes.
Using the /B switch with Setup causes Setup to run in monochrome mode, but
has no effect on the actual Windows 3.1 display settings.
