SYMPTOMS When you use the Microsoft Broadband Network Utility (BNU) to connect to the Internet, you may notice one or more of the following behaviors: - The BNU may display an incorrect Internet Protocol (IP) address for your computer.
- The BNU may incorrectly report that your computer is not connected to the Internet.
- The BNU icon on the taskbar may incorrectly report that your computer is not connected to the Internet.
Your Internet connection works as expected even though the BNU reports incorrect information. CAUSEThis issue may occur if the Broderbund Zone Alarm firewall program is installed on your computer.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, remove the Zone Alarm program from your computer. To remove Zone Alarm, follow these steps: - Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs.
- On the menu pane, click Change or Remove Programs.
- On the list of currently installed programs, click Zone Alarm, and then click Remove.
- Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to complete the process.
