CPR - SQL 2000 - Hotfix in SP4 BUG #: 360568 (SHILOH_BUGS) SYMPTOMSIf you run DBCC DBREINDEX on a table that contains one or more hypothetical indexes, an access violation may occur in the CTableMetadata::LoadIndex function. Hypothetical indexes are created by the Index Tuning Wizard during the tuning process. The indexes are typically dropped at the end of the Index Tuning Wizard process. However, in some cases, such as an Index Tuning Wizard process that is not successful, these indexes may not be correctly removed.
Additionally, when you run DBCC CHECKDB, you may receive the following error message that indicates that the sysindexes system table is corrupted: Server: Msg 7995, Level 16, State 3, Line 1 Database 'test'
consistency errors in sysobjects, sysindexes, syscolumns, or systypes prevent
further CHECK processing. When you run DBCC CHECKTABLE on sysindexes, the following errors may be reported: Server: Msg 2537, Level 16,
State 40, Line 1 Table error: Object ID 2, index ID 0, page (1:3282), row
5. Record check (length <= colInfo.CbMaxLen () && pCol != NULL)
failed. Values are 1120 and 1088.
Server: Msg 2537, Level 16, State 1,
Line 1 Table error: Object ID 2, index ID 0, page (1:3282), row 6. Record check
(length <= colInfo.CbMaxLen () && pCol != NULL) failed. Values are
1120 and 1088.
Server: Msg 8964, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 Table error:
Object ID 2. The text, ntext, or image node at page (1:24219), slot 2, text ID
108377276416 is not referenced.
Server: Msg 8964, Level 16, State 1, Line
1 Table error: Object ID 2. The text, ntext, or image node at page (1:24219),
slot 4, text ID 108377341952 is not referenced. DBCC results for 'sysindexes'.
