FIX: Server for NFS Resource Is Stuck in "Offline Pending" with SANergy Installed (817917)


The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Services for Unix 2.3
  • Microsoft Services for Unix 3.0

SYMPTOMS

Server for Network File System (NFS) stops responding in the "Offline Pending" state when all the following conditions are true:
  • You have removed the resource two times.
  • You have installed the IBM Tivoli SANergy software.
  • You have experienced a loss of the power supply on a server cluster.
  • You try to move the NFS resource.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next version that contains this hotfix.
