Recording Does Not Save If Notes Is Not the Active Application (817811)

SYMPTOMS

After you press and hold the hardware record button on a Pocket PC device to record notes, you hear a beep. This beep indicates that the device is recording. However, the recording may not be saved in the Notes application.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior

  1. Start Notes.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  3. On the Options menu, click Stay in current program under Record button action.
  4. Start another application, such as File Explorer.
  5. Press and hold the hardware record button. You hear a beep. This beep indicates that the device is recording.
  6. Release the record button. You hear two beeps. These beeps indicate that the device stopped recording.
  7. Return to the Notes application. Notice that no recording is saved.
