An ASP.NET Run-time Error Occurs If You Set the Publishing Date for a Future Time (817710)

SYMPTOMS

You create a new posting or update an existing posting, and then change the published date to a future date or time. If you then switch from edit mode to live mode while the browser is displaying the posting that is currently not published, you may receive the following Microsoft ASP.NET run-time error message:
The View State is invalid or this page might be corrupted.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the Placeholder control is activated incorrectly under special circumstances.

RESOLUTION
