Blank page prints when you use "Print Target" (817454)


The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

When you right-click a hyperlink on a Web page, and then click Print Target, a blank page may print instead of the target document.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the target document is a Microsoft Office or an Adobe Acrobat PDF document, and the Browse in same window check box for the document file type setting is not selected. By default, this check box is selected when you install Microsoft Office.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, turn on Browse in same window.

Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.
  1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Windows Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the File Types tab.
  3. Locate the first Microsoft Office file type, DOC, and then click Advanced.
  4. Click to select the Browse in same window check box.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Repeat steps 3 to 5 for the following file types: PPS, PPT, XLS.
  7. Click Close.
