SYMPTOMSWhen you try to load a registry hive, Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) quits unexpectedly.
Additionally, the following events appear in the Application log of the Event Viewer: Date: date Source: Application Error

For example, click Load Hive on the File menu instead of using keyboard commands to open the File menu and select the Load Hive option.STATUS Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
