BUG: Site Deployment Fails if Server Data Object (.sdo) File Is More Than 250 MB (816978)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Content Management Server 2002
SYMPTOMSIf you create a Server Data Object (.sdo) file that is more
than 250 MB by using Site Deployment Manager in Microsoft Content Management
Server (MCMS), the file may be terminated abruptly with errors. The
errors are logged in the application section of the Windows Event Viewer. These
errors refer to an out-of-memory exception in SQL Server, but the errors may
also indicate SQL Server client errors. The following error messages are
examples of the type of errors that you may receive:
MCMS Site Deployment - Error occurred
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError: A severe error occurred on the current command.
The results, if any, should be discarded. MCMS Site Deployment - Error
occurred. System.OutOfMemoryException: Exception of type
System.OutOfMemoryException was thrown. MCMS Site Deployment - Error
occurred. System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError: General network error. Check your
network documentation.
CAUSEThis problem occurs because the .sdo file requires heavy use
of the SQL Server memory resources. This heavy use contributes to the SQL
Server memory failure. The SQL Server memory failure leads to the MCMS error in
Site Deployment Manager. Service pack information
