PRB: Evaluation Period Expiration Error Message in BizTalk Server (816940)


The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft BizTalk Server 2002
  • Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000

SYMPTOMS

When you try to run any of the tools in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000 or BizTalk Server 2002 (such as Editor, Mapper, or Orchestration Designer), you receive the following error message:
Thank you for evaluating Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000/2002. The period for this evaluation version has ended. Please contact Microsoft or your software reseller to obtain a licensed version of Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000/2002.
This error message appears regardless of whether you have a licensed copy of BizTalk Server 2000 or BizTalk Server 2002 installed.

CAUSE

This error might occur if you have installed BizTalk Server through Terminal Services. Installing Microsoft BizTalk Server by using Terminal Services is not supported.

RESOLUTION

Install BizTalk Server from the BizTalk Server console.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
