"A General Network Error Occurred" Error Message When You Send a Message to a Remote Access Client (816904)

SYMPTOMSWhen you try to send a message to a remote access client, you receive the following error message: The following error occurred during message transfer to the client at computer computername :
A general network error occurred.
CAUSEThis issue occurs if both of the following conditions are true: - You send the message from a remote access server by using the Send Message option in the Routing and Remote Access Management utility (Rrasmgmt.msc).
-and- - The remote access client is connected to the remote access server through a virtual private network (VPN) connection.
WORKAROUNDTo work around this issue, ignore the error message, and then resend the message to the remote access client. The error does not recur.STATUS

listed at the beginning of this article.
