Cannot Type Modem AT Commands in HyperTerminal (816489)

SYMPTOMSWhen you try to type a modem initialization command (AT) in
the command window of HyperTerminal, you may be able to type only the first
character of the modem AT command.
Note Modem AT commands sent by a Telephony Application Programming
Interface (TAPI) application to initialize the modem work fine.CAUSEThis issue may occur if both of the following conditions are
true:
- Hyper-Threading is enabled on your
computer.
-and- - The AGERE SoftModem driver is installed on the
computer.
WORKAROUNDTo prevent this problem from occurring, turn off
Hyper-Threading.
