SUMMARY

If you use a client computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP, you cannot sign in to a participating Microsoft Passport Web site that is configured to authenticate against and to run in the Passport Preproduction (PREP) environment.

To sign in to the PREP environment, follow these steps to configure the client computer:
  1. Sign in to the computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP Beta with administrator credentials.
  2. Delete the contents of the following registry keys:
    • Passport Nexus Config:

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Passport

    • Passport DAMap:

      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Passport\DAMap

  3. Run the registry script for the Passport environment that you want to authenticate against:
