BUG: The Browser Stops Responding If You Use the Help Link on the Microsoft Passport Sign in Dialog Box (816415)

SYMPTOMS

You click the Help link on the Microsoft Passport Sign in dialog box, and then the Passport Member Services page loads in a browser window. If you click the Sign in button or if you click any of the links under I want to change something, the browser stops responding.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior

  1. Click the Help link on the Sign in dialog box.

    A browser window opens and the Passport Member Services page is displayed.
  2. Click the Sign In button or click any of the links under I want to change something.

    The browser stops responding.
