The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft ActiveSync 3.6
  • Microsoft Windows Powered Pocket PC 2002
  • Pocket PC Phone Edition 1.0
  • Microsoft Windows Powered Pocket PC 2003
  • Microsoft ActiveSync 4.0

SYMPTOMS

If you send a Japanese-encoded HTML document through e-mail from one Pocket PC device to another Pocket PC device, the text encoding may become garbled. This issue occurs only when sending a file from a Pocket PC device to another Pocket PC device; this issue does not occur when you send a Japanese encoded-HTML file from a Pocket PC device to a desktop computer, or from a desktop computer to a Pocket PC device. It is expected that this issue may also occur with other double-byte character sets (for example, East Asian languages).

RESOLUTION

If you want to share an HTML file or web page, use the following method:
  • Click Tools, and then click E-mail the link. This action sends the link through e-mail on Microsoft Pocket Internet Explorer.
