ACC2000: Access Quits Unexpectedly When Viewing Report Preview (814093)

SYMPTOMS

When you view a report preview window, Access 2000 may quit unexpectedly.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if you view the report preview by using a computer that uses a different DEVMODE dmDriverExtra printer driver than was used by the computer that created the report.

For example, this problem may occur if you do the following:
  1. Install a printer that uses a DEVMODE dmDriverExtra printer driver, and then set the printer as the default printer.
  2. Create the report by using Access 2000.
  3. Install a different printer that uses a different DEVMODE dmDriverExtra printer driver, and then set that printer as the default printer.
  4. View the report by using Access 2000.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing to further ensure product quality. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Office 2000 service pack that contains this fix.
