You receive an error message when you print a large presentation in PowerPoint 2003 (813721)

SYMPTOMS When you try to print a large PowerPoint 2003 presentation,
you may receive an error message that is similar to the following:
Windows cannot print due to a problem with the current
printer setup. Try one or more of the following:
- Check the printer by printing a test page from
Windows.
- Make sure the printer is turned on and online.
- Reinstall the printer driver.
Note None of the suggestions that are listed in the error message
resolve the issue. CAUSEThis issue may occur if the PowerPoint 2003 presentation
contains pictures or other graphics that make the file size very
large.RESOLUTION To resolve this issue, reduce the size of the pictures in
the presentation. To do so, follow these steps: Note You do not have to know in advance which picture is causing the
issue.
- Start PowerPoint 2003, and then open the presentation that
is causing the printing issue.
- On the Picture toolbar, click
Compress Pictures.
- In the Compress Pictures dialog box, click
All pictures in document under Apply
to.
- Under Change resolution, click
Print.
- Under Options, click to select both the
Compress pictures and Delete cropped areas of
pictures check boxes.
- Click OK, and then click
Apply.
