SYMPTOMSWhen you are verifying a backup that spans several pieces of
removable media by using Ntbackup, you may receive the following
message: Insert the following
media
Media_label_name created
Creation_date at
Creation_time Media
#Media_number
Do you want to
continue? where Media_number is the same
number on the current disk or tape you had inserted. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, make sure that you have inserted
the correct media that Ntbackup has requested. You may have to insert the media
multiple times before Ntbackup recognizes it. In some situations, reinserting the disk or tape will not
work, and the verification pass on the backup media will fail. This does not
mean that the data on that and later media are invalid, it means that they were
not verified by the Ntbackup software. The backup data on the media should be
in a usable state. STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are
listed at the beginning of this article.
