  • Microsoft Windows Media Player 9 Series for Windows 2000
  • Microsoft Windows Media Player 9 Series for Windows 98 Second Edition
  • Microsoft Windows Media Player 9 Series for Windows Millennium Edition
  • Microsoft Windows Media Player 9 Series for Windows XP

SYMPTOMS

In Windows Media Player, when you play an .asx playlist, if there is a .wsx file in the playlist that is followed by a live station feed, the live station feed may be partially or fully skipped.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if Windows Media Player caches the live station, and then it detects an "End of File". If this occurs, the live station may not play, depending on the duration of playlist.

WORKAROUND

To prevent this problem, do not set a live station feed to play after a .wsx file.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
