Cannot Capture Video Through Video Capture Device (813385)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to use Windows Media Encoder version 9 to capture video and audio input through a video capture device, you may only capture the audio input.

CAUSE

This issue occurs if you use a script with the video and audio input, and you enable the following advanced options:
  • Capture to hard disk first, then encode
  • Time Code

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, disable Capture to hard disk first, then encode , Time Code, or both:
  1. In Windows Media Encoder, click Properties.
  2. Click the Advanced tab.
  3. Clear to clear the Capture to hard disk first, then encode check box, the Time Code check box, or both.
