SYMPTOMS
In debug builds, when you create an instance of a class that is derived from a class that is in a Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) extension DLL, you receive the following error message:
---------------------------
Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library
---------------------------
Debug Assertion Failed!
Program: C:\WINNT\system32\regsvr32.exe
File: olefact.cpp
Line: 52
Typically, this problem occurs when a COM object class in an MFC regular DLL derives from a class in an MFC extension DLL. You see this error message when you register the COM object by using Regsvr32.exe.
RESOLUTION
Note You must rebuild your program (all EXE files and DLL files that use MFC) for the hotfix to work.
