XADM: ADC Removes AdcGlobalNames from Active Directory Objects After a Full Synchronization (811666)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server
- Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5
SYMPTOMS When you force a full directory synchronization between an
Exchange 2000 Server computer and an Exchange 5.5 Server computer, the Active
Directory Connector (ADC) may remove the msExchADCGlobalNames attribute from Active Directory objects. CAUSEThis behavior may occur when a Custom Recipient (CR) that
was created on an Exchange 5.5 Server computer for a mailbox-enabled user in
Active Directory is deleted. In this situation, the ADC replicates the custom
recipient to the mailbox-enabled user and removes the global name of the Active
Directory object. RESOLUTION Although there is no resolution for this issue, it causes
no damage. When either the Custom Recipient or the Active Directory user is
modified, changes are replicated correctly. The msExchADCGlobalNames attribute is restored when required.
