SYMPTOMS
After you suppress performance library (perflib) event
messages by setting the
EventLogLevel registry setting as described in the
following Microsoft Knowledge Base article, perflib continues to log event
messages:
226494 INFO: Events for Performance Monitor Extensions
Note The information in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 226494 only
affects messages that perflib reports. For example, an Event ID 1008
message has output similar to the following:

Hotfix Information
A supported fix is now available
from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is
described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing

Note This fix only affects error messages that Event Source perflib
reports.
