SYMPTOMS

You cannot connect with other players when you try to play a multiplayer game.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if one or more of the following conditions are true:
  • You upgrade to Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1)
  • You use Internet Connection Sharing
  • You have DirectX 8.1 or earlier installed on your computer

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, visit the following Microsoft Web site to download, and then install DirectX 9.0:
