  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Outlook Web Access, you may not be able to view the contents of a folder other than the current folder that is in the Folders list. The contents of the folder may not appear as you expect.

For example, when you click another folder in the Folders list, the contents of the previous folder may still appear in the right pane. The contents of the folder that you want to view may appear in an additional pane next to it. However, this additional pane may be minimized and hidden from view. You may have to adjust the size of the pane to view the contents of the folder.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the Web Discussions feature in Microsoft Internet Explorer is turned on.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, turn off the Web Discussions feature. To turn off the Web Discussions feature, click the Discuss button in Internet Explorer. When you do so, the Web Discussions toolbar no longer appears at the bottom of your browser window.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

The Web Discussions feature in Internet Explorer permits you to attach comments to a Web page or to any document that can be opened by using a browser such as .xls, .doc, .ppt, and .gif files. The comments appear with the document but are stored on a discussion server.
