  • ZoneAlarm from Zone Labs does not display warning pop-up messages on the Smart Display when you browse the Web or start a program.

    To resolve this problem:
    1. Disconnect the Smart Display from the host computer.
    2. Log on to your computer and again try to visit the Web page or start the program.
    3. When the ZoneAlarm Alert warning appears, click Remember this answer next time use this program, and then click Yes.
  • A blank screen appears when you start a game.

    Many games do not work with the Smart Display, such as Microsoft Pinball.
  • The Deterministic Network Enhancer software accelerator that is included with the Starband 360 modem causes an error on a blue screen at startup.

  • Smart Display stops responding when you view Quicktime movies.

    Do not play video on a Smart Display device.
  • When playing music, applications become slow.

    To improve the performance of your applications, you can increase their Application Priority. Only accounts that have the Increase Scheduling Priority permission can increase the priority of real-time programs. By default, only administrators and power users have this permission.

    An administrator can grant the Increase Scheduling Priority permission to a user or group through User Manager. To do this, the administrator must:
    1. Click Start, point to Programs, and then click Administrative Tools.
    2. On the Administrative Tools menu, click Local Security Policy.
    3. In the left-pane, click User Rights Assignment.
    4. In the right pane, double-click Increase scheduling priority.
    5. Click Add to add users or groups to the list of entities that have this permission.
    To change the scheduling priority of an application:
    1. Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and then click Task Manager.
    2. Click the Processes tab, and then right-click the application process that you want to increase the priority for.
    3. Click Set Priority, and then click the priority level that you want.
    Only increase the priority by one level. For example, if the application has Normal priority, only increase it to AboveNormal.
  • A host computer that has a Hauppauge video capture card stops responding when you start WinTV from a Smart Display.

  • During DVD playback from the host computer through Media Player, Power DVD, or a Mediamatics DVD player, you receive the following error message:
