FIX: BizDesk cannot locate a category that has two or more spaces in the name (810025)



The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Commerce Server 2000 SP3
  • Microsoft Commerce Server 2002 SP1

SYMPTOMS

When you try to assign a category to another category, you receive the following error message:
Commerce.CatalogManager 8898001C
The Category you specified doesn't exist.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Commerce Server 2002. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

Note If you use Commerce Server 2000, download Commerce Server 2002 Service Pack 2 (SP2). After you unpack the files, unzip the BizDesk.cab file by double-clicking the file. Replace the Edit_Category.asp file from your Commerce Server 2000 installation with the new BizDesk.cab file.

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. Install Microsoft Commerce Server 2000 or Commerce Server 2002.
  2. Unpack the retail site.
  3. Import Bookfull.xml.
  4. Create a Category named Two spaces. Use two spaces between the word "Two" and the word "spaces."
  5. Try to assign this category to an existing category.
