This article was previously published under Q80794 SUMMARY
Works 4.0, 4.5, and 4.5a for Windows 95 has a field format called
"Automatically enter a default value" that allows you to create a default
value for a field.
In Works 2.0 and 3.0, you can enter a formula into a database field to
create a default value for a field.
A default value, or proposed response, is used most often when you have
fields in the database in which the information usually remains the same
(such as the city, state, or zip code), and you don't want to type the
information repeatedly.
