In Microsoft Publisher for Windows, you can use the Find option to
search through a document and locate occurrences of words, phrases,
numbers or punctuation marks. You can also use this feature to locate
certain special characters such as tabs or end-of-paragraph marks. The
following table lists the valid special characters Publisher can
locate.
By choosing either the Find or Replace options from the Edit menu in
Publisher, you can search for any of the following special characters.
Special Character Definition
----------------- ----------
^^ A caret character (^)
? Wildcard character. For example, if
you want to find all occurrences of
the words "sing" and "ring", type ?ing
^? A question mark
^- An optional hyphen
^~ A nonbreaking hyphen
^n A line break
^p The end of a paragraph
^s A nonbreaking space
^t A tab stop
^w A white space
