SUMMARY

When a cell formula is copied from one spreadsheet to another, the formula is copied, but the value may be different.

The new spreadsheet will try to calculate the value using the new cell references (relative or absolute) of the copied formula.

If a cell from a spreadsheet is copied into a word processor or database file, the value of that cell is copied, but the formula is not copied.

When you copy a cell containing a formula from a field in the database, the value of that cell always gets copied, but the formula does not get copied. For additional information, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
