Music and Stability Issues
Game performance and stability may be improved if you turn off
the music. To do this, follow these steps:
- Start RalliSport Challenge.
- On the Game menu, click
Options.
- Click Sound Options.
- Click Volume Settings.
- Drag the Music slider to the left to set
the music volume to zero.
Specific Hardware Issues
Aureal Vortex 2 Sound Card Issues
During game play, you may experience a loss of engine and race
sounds. To resolve this issue, download and install the latest drivers from
Aureal.
Creative ES1371, ES1373 Chipsets
You may experience startup issues when you use the default
drivers for this audio card. To resolve this issue, download and install the
latest drivers from Creative Labs.
Diamond Monster MX300 Sound Card Issues
You may experience inconsistent or stuttering sound performance
during game play. To resolve this issue, download and install the latest
drivers. To do this, visit the following SONICblue Web site:
Ensoniq PCI Card
You may experience startup issues in RalliSport if you use an
Ensoniq PCI sound card with Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition. To resolve
this issue, download and install the latest audio PCI drivers. To do this,
visit the following Creative Web site:
Nvidia nForce Chipsets
During game play, you may experience crackling audio on older
driver versions of these chipsets when used with Microsoft Windows XP. To
resolve this issue, download and install the latest drivers from nVidia.
Sound Blaster Live Chipsets
During game play, you may experience crackling audio on older
driver versions when used with Windows XP. To resolve this issue, download and
install the latest drivers from Creative Labs.
VIA Technologies Audio Issues (Onboard Integrated Audio)
During game play, you may experience sounds that seem to play
faster and at a higher pitch than expected. To resolve this issue, download and
install the latest drivers from the Microsoft Windows Update. To do this, visit
the following Microsoft Web site:
VIA AC/97 (Onboard Integrated Audio)
During game play, you may experience sounds that seem to play
faster and at a higher pitch than expected. To resolve this issue, disable
hardware acceleration on your computer. To do this, see the "Disable Hardware
Acceleration" section of this article
Silicon Integrated Systems (SIS) 7180
During game play, you may experience crackling or static instead
of standard co-driver speech commentary. Engine sounds may also be corrupted.
To resolve this issue, disable hardware acceleration on your computer. To do
this, see the "Disable Hardware Acceleration" section of this article.
Yamaha Onboard Sound Chip
During game play, you may experience crackling or static instead
of standard co-driver speech commentary. Engine sounds may also be corrupted.
To resolve this issue, disable hardware acceleration on your computer. To do
this, see the "Disable Hardware Acceleration" section of this article
Disable Hardware Acceleration
- Click Start, and then click
Run.
- In the Open box, type
dxdiag, and then click OK.
- Click the Sound tab.
- Under DirectX Features, move the
Hardware Sound Acceleration Level slider all the way to the
left (to the No acceleration setting).
Click
Exit, and then start the game.
If this does not
resolve the issue, repeat this procedure to increase the hardware sound
acceleration level setting a notch at a time until the issue is
resolved.
