XCCC: Web Scheduler Resolves Two Different Users with the Same SMTP Addresses (330330)

SYMPTOMS

The Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server Web Scheduler may incorrectly resolve a user's SMTP e-mail address so that two different users may be resolved with exactly the same SMTP addresses.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if a user in a child domain has the same user logon name as another user in a parent domain. For example:
  • One user has the following user logon name: someone@example.com
  • The other user has the following user logon name: someone@childdomain.example.com

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
