After You Update the Index the Last Modified Date of Subscriptions Is Changed to the Date When the Index Is Updated (330206)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2001
  • Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2001 SP1

This article was previously published under Q330206

SYMPTOMS

When you perform a full update of the index of a SharePoint Portal Server workspace, the date that is displayed for your subscriptions may be changed from the date when the file, document, category, or search result was last modified, to the date when the index was last updated.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when you update the index of a Dedicated Content Indexer (DCI) workspace. In this situation, SharePoint Portal Server Service Pack incorrectly processes the timestamp for subscription items.

Note If the DCI workspace is created before SharePoint Portal Server Service Pack 1 (SP1) is applied to the computer, two entries may be displayed for each subscription item. The date that is displayed for one of the entries is the date when the index was last updated.
