VBScript MsgBox Function Does Not Work (329678)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Microsoft Visual Basic Scripting Edition (VBScript) language, and you call the MsgBox function, this operation does not work. If the display of script errors is enabled, you receive an error message similar to the following:
Error: Object doesn't support this action: 'msgbox'

RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft as Windows CE 4.0 Core OS QFE Q329678. To resolve this problem immediately, search for the keyword "QFE" on the following Microsoft Web site:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/

The English version of this package has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

WORKAROUND

If you can modify the VBScript application code, use the alert() method of the Microsoft Internet Explorer window object.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
