SUMMARY

Storage Manager for Server Appliances Service Pack 1 (SP1) provides the latest updates to Storage Manager 1.01.

This service pack contains significant security enhancements and stability and performance improvements. Some of the fixes that are included with SP1 were previously released as separate updates (QFEs: Q308987, Q313241, Q315465, Q319185, and Q320376). This service pack combines them in one update.

Installation

You must install Storage Manager 1.01 for Server Appliances on your computer before you install Storage Manager for Server Appliances Service Pack 1.

To prepare to install Storage Manager for Server Appliances Service Pack 1, follow these preliminary steps:
  1. Optional step: remove the Q308987, Q313214, Q315465, Q319185, and Q320376 updates from your computer, and then restart the computer.

    Note: These updates (QFEs) are included in Storage Manager for Server Appliances Service Pack 1. You do not have to remove them before you install the service pack.
  2. Download the Storage Manager for Server Appliances Service Pack1 .CAB file.
  3. Follow the steps under "Installing the Service Pack".


Installing the Service Pack

To install Storage Manager for Server Appliances Service Pack 1, follow these steps:
  1. From the main Server Appliance Kit page, click the Maintenance tab .
  2. Click Software Update and then follow the prompts through the wizard. On the Welcome page, click Next to continue.
  3. On the Select File page, click the Browse button to search for and select the Storage Manager for Server Appliances Service Pack 1 .cab file that you downloaded and saved earlier.
  4. Click Verify to verify the validity of the .cab file (the verification process may take several minutes).
  5. Click Finish to complete installation.
  6. Restart the computer.

    Important: Because Storage Manager for Server Appliances Service Pack 1 includes new drivers, you must restart the computer after the installation is complete so that these new drivers can be loaded.
