PRB: Analysis Services Properties are Empty or Set to Zero (328721)

SYMPTOMS

In Analysis Manager, if you open the Analysis Server Properties dialog box (by right-clicking the server name, and then clicking Properties), you will see that some property entries are empty or are set to zero. If you enter a new value for one of the properties, the entry is empty again when you re-open Analysis Manager.

CAUSE

The Remote Registry Service on the local server is not started.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, start the Remote Registry Service on the local server.

MORE INFORMATION

The Properties dialog box takes a long time to display.

The Usage-Based Optimization Wizard also has a similar problem with it's Properties dialog box.
