ACT permits only 1 KB for cookie data size (327872)

SYMPTOMS

When you create a Visual Studio .NET Application Center Test (ACT) project that sets a cookie larger than 1 kilobyte (KB), the following error is returned in the ACT trace logs:
ScriptError,Invalid procedure call or argument

CAUSE

This issue occurs because ACT supports a maximum cookie size of 1 KB.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

Actapp.dll and Xmlloader.dll were modified to allow for a maximum cookie size of 20,480 bytes.

The English version of this fix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.
